El nuevo Estado neoweberiano es la versión contemporánea y actual de la administración pública weberiana: práctica, teórica y normativamente. Las actualizaciones de Geert Bouckaert muestran de manera convincente que tanto el propio Estado neoweberiano como la AP weberiana original poseen los recursos para abordar cuestiones contemporáneas tanto del desarrollo académico-teórico de la Administración Pública como de los desafíos éticos asociados. Para ilustrar esto, el presente ensayo analiza primero las diversas permutaciones del weberianismo y su relación entre sí; luego aborda la relación entre el Estado Neoweberiano y la Nueva Gestión Pública; y finalmente aborda la conexión de la Administración Pública weberiana en todas sus formas con la buena Administración Pública.
