Abstract

Sustainability is firmly established as a priority on the global agenda. The role of governments in promoting sustainable public procurement practices is essential to achieving the sustainable development goals. The objective of this work is to analyze the scientific production on Sustainable Public Procurement through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. The Web of Science database was used, where relevant articles published between 2006 and 2023 were identified and analyzed. Bibliometric metrics such as number of publications and citations, h-index, main countries, journals and authors, as well as thematic maps generated by the Biblioshiny application were examined. This study contributed to a better understanding of the field, identifying trends and gaps for future research. Opportunities for new research were identified, especially in the development of adaptable models for different regional contexts, effective governance and training to promote sustainability in the public sector.
